NEXT GATHERING
We’re delighted beyond words to return after a long COVID-related break to partnering in the production of feel-good gatherings at the Ivy Room in Albany, CA. Performing this coming Monday, August 8th at 8pm will be Oakland-based upright/electric bassist, composer and bandleader Caroline Chung with Citizen’s Jazz (founded in 2010 from an evolving crew of seasoned musicians). Joining Caroline will be Sarah Lyer (lead vocals), Khalil Doak-Anthony (guitar), Chris Cascherman (trumpet/steel pan) and Jae Jackson (drums). Together they’ll share a vibey sneak peak at the yummy originals and favored tunes they’ve been rehearsing for the upcoming San Jose Jazz Festival.
Advance tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite for $10 and will otherwise be available at the door for $20. COVID Protocol (vaccinations and masks encouraged) is available on the Ivy Room’s website.
Thank you for helping to spread the word to other music lovers who might enjoy this event. We look forward to grooving with you!
UPCOMING GATHERINGS
Achilles Wheel Trio (one of our beloved house concert alumni bands who last performed in 2017) will be returning for an indoor house concert performance in Oakland, CA on Sunday, November 13th at 4:30pm.
Paul Kamm, Jonny Mojo and Shelby Snow are singer/ songwriters and front men of the Northern California Roots and World music/Rock and Roll jam band, Achilles Wheel. As an acoustic trio they bring the same high energy and engaging stage presence to a quieter place, combining a bit of Country and Bluegrass to the band’s famously hard driving sound.
This will be a private party with limited capacity so please email Winter directly if you would like to attend.
We know it’s a way off but the 2022 Montclair Village Holiday Stroll will be held in Oakland, CA on Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 5:30 to 8:30pm. This free and family-friendly event is a wonderful way to kick off your holiday season so do please mark your calendar and stay tuned for more information. Also, please let us know if you have something you would like the event to include or have interest in being a performer, vendor, donor, sponsor or volunteer.
RECENT GATHERINGS
The 2022 Montclair Beer, Wine & Music Festival (MBWMF) on Saturday, June 18th in Oakland, CA was by all reports a successful fun fest. Last held in 2019, participants were enthusiastic about gathering for the community’s largest annual event. As you can see from the pics we’ve posted (see link below) smiles were a plenty, none of which would have been possible were it not for the dozens of Attendees, Participants, Donors, Sponsors and Volunteers.
For those who weren’t able to attend, the MBWMF included a variety of local beers and wines, in addition to live music on a unique pedal-powered sound system from Rock the Bike that was loved by kids and adults alike. There was more fun for the whole family including a fire truck for kids to explore from the Oakland Firefighters Random Acts Parade Rig, Giant Puppets Save the World, face painting, and live music featuring Andre Thierry and his Accordion Soul Music, Citizens Jazz, Wolf Jett, and Mio Flores and his Latin Jazz Allstars. The event also included the launch of the Montclair Cares Club. Thank you so much to our sponsors Bay Alarm, Compass, Crown Wine and Spirits, CRUfit, F&M Bank, Farmstead Cheeses and Wines, Meet Your Core, Mister Beever’s Paws and Claws, Montclair Sports Tennis, Oaktoberfest, Orangetheory, Red Oak Realty and Village Chiropractic. Photos taken by Reenie Raschke, Peter Marcus, Winter Williams, and Jessamyn Weld.
Thank you again one and all for helping this family-friendly street festival return to Montclair Village. We look forward to seeing you at the next one on Saturday, June 17th, 2023!
It’s always a treat to partner with kind creatives to bring feel-good live music to a family-friendly audience. Such was the adventure we had recently hosting the Unsinkable Heavies from Seattle, WA on the rooftop of the Montclair Parking Garage. All who participated enjoyed themselves and we look forward to collaborating with the Montclair Village Association again to expand on the experiment when the timing is right. Meanwhile we also encourage you not to miss out catching the Polyrhythmics (the full band) next time they swing through the Bay Area in October.
MEET JESSAMYN
Recent and ongoing updates / improvements to our website and social media presence have been made possible by Jessamyn Weld joining the Production Posse. We’re very grateful for her assistance and delighted to share the following introduction…
Hi! I’m Jessamyn! I started working with Winter in 2018 helping out with the dog business. I have been working hard maintaining our online presence, including social media and website. I also run an Instagram account for my two dogs. I love animals, Marvel, Star Wars, knitting, and doing puzzles.
